LoRaWAN Environmental Monitoring System
Tai Po Sewage Treatment Plant

Environmental monitoring systems are facilities that collect and measure various atmospheric conditions to provide accurate and up-to-date weather information. The stations are equipped with a range of instruments and sensors to capture data on factors such as temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind speed and direction, precipitation and solar radiation.

The main purpose of weather monitoring stations is to collect real-time weather data for forecasting, climatology and research purposes.

Our meteorological monitoring station consists of the following parts:

Meteorological instruments:
including thermometer, barometer, hygrometer, anemometer, rain gauge and pyranometer. Each instrument is designed to measure specific weather parameters.

Data loggers:
These devices record and store measurements from meteorological instruments. They ensure that data is captured accurately and can be analyzed later.

Communication system:
Weather monitoring stations are usually equipped with communication systems to transmit the collected data to a central database or weather forecast agency. This can be done via a wired or wireless network, a satellite link, or an Internet connection.

Power supply:
Weather monitoring stations require stable and continuous power supply, which can be provided through a combination of sources such as power grids, solar panels, and batteries.

Currently, the meteorological monitoring station has set up two test points at Tai Po Sewage Treatment Plant.
